10 TV shows to watch in October bbc.com
From Watchmen to Living with Yourself and the return of Mr Robot, Eddie Mullan picks the programs worth seeing this month.
For almost two decades, a live-action film of the acclaimed 1987 graphic novel languished in development hell, finally seeing the light of day in 2009 – but to middling reviews and box office. Famously the comic’s author Alan Moore opposes such adaptations, and has said most of his work in the 1980s was designed to be un-filmable. But that’s not deterred some from giving it a go. Now writer Damon Lindelof (Lost) is the latest to attempt to recreate Moore’s dark vision on-screen with what he has dubbed a ‘remix’ of the source material. Regina King and Jeremy Irons are among the stars playing a group of masked vigilantes who cause conflict between civilians and police. Watch the trailer here. Premieres 20 October on HBO and afterward on Sky Atlantic (Credit: HBO)
