It’s time for everyone to grow up because being a Toys R Us kid is officially a thing of the past.
The beloved toy store shut down all locations across the U.S. on Friday, June 29, months after it was announced that it would be liquidating the business. The brand decided to acknowledge its 60-plus-year history and loyal customers with a parting message on its website that was, to be honest, just downright sad.
“Thanks to each of you who share your amazing journey to (and through) parenthood with us, and to every grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother and sister who’s built a couch-cushion rocket ship, made up a hero adventure, or invented something gooey. Promise us just this one thing: Don’t ever grow up. Play on!”
