Boy, 17, injured as masked gang storm college with knives metro.co.uk
The boy’s injury was not serious, but could have been ‘much worse’, police said. Staff at the college rang police at 10.40am on Monday after they received an anonymous report stating a group with weapons was heading to the college by train from Manchester. Officers were sent to the site and shortly before 4pm they witnessed a group of around 12 people walking into the grounds while students were leaving. The group started ‘shouting at and confronting students’, Lancashire Police said. ‘Some of the group had knives. ‘A 17-year-old boy received a cut to his arm during the incident and was taken to Chorley Hospital. His injury is not thought to be serious. ‘No one else was injured during the melee,’ the force said. The group made off from the college when police patrols arrived.
