Chris Ashton has been challenged to a race against time on his long-awaited return to a Six Nations starting role. Six years after his last championship start for England, the Sale star lines up on the right wing against France on Sunday in place of Jack Nowell. He does so under orders to strike an early blow for Eddie Jones’ team and extend England’s four-match streak of scoring tries inside the first three minutes. “Ashy is a finisher,” said Jones. “We think he might sneak us a try early in the game, as he did against New Zealand.”
