It all started one day when rumours went rife that Star Plus' Ishqbaaaz is all set to take a leap. The show has been running for almost two years and after working wonders on the BARC list and even on the digital platform, it all slowly started fading away. And obviously the makers were left with no options but to bring major twists and turns to bring back the audience and bag the needed numbers to stop the channel from pulling the plug. Rumours about the show going off air did the rounds several times over but every time producer Gul Khan rubbished them and gave the audience something to gush over. She is the one who brought the unique love story of Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Anika (Surbhi Chandna) to life. In fact the show has reached a level where it has become a brand in itself. From the glamorous events on the show to the exquisite look of the stellar cast, the show has been one-of-a-kind. And now finally the makers are determined to take the show to the next level and embark on a new journey of the characters. They want to show the cute modern day parenting journey of Anika and Shivaay but Surbhi is not keen on playing a mother and thus she is quitting the show. This didn't go well with her fans and thus they started trending #EndIshqbaaaz. Well, we wonder is it really necessary to shut the show for a single character?

Nothing is constant in this world and neither the storyline of any show. In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, when Rohan Mehra and Hina Khan quit the show, the makers concentrated on the story of their daughter Naira, played by Shivangi Joshi. And they have successfully grabbed attention post the changes and it is one of the leading shows on BARC list. Even the sequel of Diya Aur Baati Hum, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji worked well and bagged good numbers and ran for one year. Thus when a show is not working on either BARC list and digital platform, the makers need to bring a change. And if an actor is not ready for the change and wants to bid farewell then is it justified to axe the entire show out.
Gul has given Anika, Shivaay, the story of Shivika and one should have faith to let her show what she has in her mind. And Surbhi is a character who won't be replaced but the entire story will take a leap and a new track will be introduced with only Nakuul staying back, who will be seen as Shivaansh.

And if you all have forgotten then let us remind you no character is bigger than a story. However, your emotions are completely relatable and justified. Surbhi deserves loads of credit for making the show a brand in itself but is she the only one who made Ishqbaaaz what it is today? How can you forget the bond of the Oberoi brothers. The entire cast and crew gave their all to make the show such a hit that whenever news of it going off air comes in, fans request Gul to do something. Take your time and give it a thought! Is it logical to shut a show as one character is leaving it?
