Katya Jones has been ‘axed’ from the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, following her kiss with Seann Walsh last year. It has been claimed BBC bosses have offered the 29-year-old a reduced role as a ‘back-up dancer’ after the scandal, in a bid to save the show’s image. However, in a further blow, husband Neil Jones has reportedly been ‘given the nod’ for a celebrity pairing, ahead of the next series. ‘Katya knows she is being punished for her actions and the scandal she caused,’ an insider claimed. ‘She feels BBC bosses are saying she can’t be trusted to act professionally with a celebrity. ‘It is frustrating as she has put so much time and effort into the new series. ‘But producers were adamant. While they let her stay in the cast they can’t condone her behaviour or all the drama she caused,’ they added to The Sun. ‘No one is bigger than the show.’ While Katya’s role in the show has been ‘diminished’, she is thought to be staying on the show for the foreseeable future as it’s ‘such a huge gig’ – and she will instead be ‘supporting’ Neil.
