London Bloodbath: Armed Police Respond To Double Shooting In North London express.co.uk
Police were called to Church Road in the Harlesden area at 7.52pm on Monday evening.
Scotland Yard stated they are awaiting confirmation on the woman’s condition.
The man’s injuries were reported to be not life-threatening.
“We await an update on the woman’s condition and the man has injuries that are not life-threatening.”
Monday’s attack is the latest incident in a surge of violent crime which has struck the capital in 2018.
So far in London this year there have been 119 violent deaths, including two which are being treated as self-defence.
A third of the remaining 117 cases involved victims aged between 16 and 24.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid announced on Monday that he plans to boost stop and search in a bid to curb the rise in violent crime.
Speaking on ITV, he said: “If you’re a police officer, you should feel absolutely confident to use your powers of stop and search.
“If we want to stop offending in the first place, we should put ethnicity aside – it doesn’t matter if someone is black or brown or white or whatever they are.
“If police think that there’s a good reason that they may be carrying an offensive weapon, the police should be absolutely empowered to stop them.
“That’s what I want to see, that’s what the public want to see.”
He also admitted that there was likely a link between the reduction in the number of police officers and the rise in crime.
He said: “Police numbers have to be an important part of the solution. Let’s not pretend that it’s not.
