Mum Spends £3,000 On Christmas Decorations metro.co.uk
A mother has spent £3,000 on festive decorations this year, including four Christmas trees. Joanne Buckley, 38, absolutely loves this time of year, and has filled her house with four giant Christmas trees, life-size gingerbread men, toy drummers and huge teddy bears to get into the holly jolly spirit. The mother-of-one from Braintree in Essex, said every room in her house has a different theme and the halls are adorned with human-sized toy soldiers, Santa statues, presents and an 8ft tree covered in tinsel and lights. The Christmas tree alone cost £800.
Joanne’s hallway has a candy stripe theme, the living room a Santa theme and another room is inspired by the Grinch. She said: ‘This year has probably been about £3000, but I add a bit more each year. One of the trees alone cost £800. ‘It’s not a cheap hobby. I am a bit obsessed with it.’ The decorations aren’t just inside – her driveway is also adorned with festive lights and flashing snowmen, and visitors are welcomed by a massive stuffed teddy bear. The self-confessed obsessive said her partner, Andrew, 48, and son, Joseph, 11, love her decorations. Joanne said: ‘He [Andrew] really likes it, he funds my fetish. ‘The kids love it. We wear Christmas jumpers every day.’
The Christmas season is not the only holiday that Miss Buckley splashes out on. She said: ‘This Halloween I had a graveyard in the driveway and had about a hundred kids coming up to the door. ‘Christmas and Halloween are the big ones. It’s been crazy.
