Eight people have died after fire ripped through a flat block in central Paris. The blaze broke out in an eight-storey building in the trendy 16th arrondissement – a tourist hotspot. Another 28 people have been injured, including three firefighters, and police believe the cause may be criminal. The death toll now stands at eight, said Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz, who added that investigators were favouring a "criminal" cause for the blaze.
