Pregnant Audi driver spared jail for 113mph crash with two young children in car metro.co.uk
Madalina-Cristina Postolache was caught speeding in her Q7 in Peterborough on June 24 last year while two months pregnant. She had four passengers in her car, including two of her own young children. She smashed into the back of a Renault Megane, injuring the back seat and front seat passengers. Two of her victims still need treatment to this day while the driver of the car she crashed into suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Postolache claimed that a car swerved in front of her on the Nene Parkway and she had to brake sharply.
This, she told Peterborough Crown Court, caused her bonnet to fly open and restricted her view. The front seat passenger of the Megane was in intensive care for three days with broken ribs, a punctured lung and severe bruising to his back.
