UK weather: Evacuations under way as storms bring flood threat and Heathrow flights grounded amid thundersnow warnings telegraph.co.uk
Dozens of flights have been grounded as snow and blizzard conditions sweep parts of Britain, with seaside evacuations under way amid a flooding threat from storms and high tides. Thundersnow is expected to bring up to 7in (20cm) of snow in parts of the UK, with the worst weather during the evening rush-hour.
Despite a respite from the rail strikes, London could still come to a standstill as snow is expected to strike the capital on Thursday evening.
